Over the years, I have seen so many lives impacted by the ministry of Sunday School. I have seen men, women, and children come to Christ. I have seen unconnected become
vitally connected. I have seen baby Christians take big steps toward maturity. I have seen men and women given opportunity to serve who grew to be church leaders.
I am reminded of a man who was invited by our senior adult men’s class to help with a church landscape project. He came and worked shoulder to shoulder with the guys in the class. He trimmed hedges, bushes, and trees. He hauled debris. He filled and emptied wheelbarrows full of mulch. He got hot and sweaty.
But in the course of all the work, I noticed something. He laughed with and got to know those men from that class. He went home feeling good about the morning and those men. And he showed up the next day for Sunday School. And the next week, and the next week. In fact, he showed up six weeks in a row, and on that Sunday he made a profession of faith.
The transformational impact of Sunday School extends far beyond the Sunday morning Bible study hour. Sunday School really is a 24/7 ministry. Lives are impacted. Relationships are begun and grown. The church is expanded. The Kingdom is built up.
