Why is Sunday School so important to the local church?
- Train your Sunday School and small group leaders because Sunday School STILL matters.
- It STILL reaches, disciples, cares, evangelizes, trains leaders, and makes a difference in people’s lives, regardless of age.
- It STILL strengthens churches. Research says more than 80% of people who attend Sunday School today will still be involved in the church five years later.
- It STILL leads people to Christ. Pastors say at least half of lost adults are saved within 12 months of attending Sunday School.
Training is available for all preschool, children, student and adult Sunday School and small group teachers, leaders and workers, including directors and pastors/staff at 3 locations in March 2025.

Pastors/Director Training
Pastors/directors will focus on +ONE: (1) adding new members to existing groups, (2) adding new leaders, and (3) adding new groups. Please bring your team along with five numbers:
- Groups: your total number of all age groups (preschool, children, student, and adult groups)
- Workers: your total number of people who serve in your Sunday School/Bible study ministry (all age groups): pastor, director, teachers, substitutes, outreach leaders, care leaders, greeters, secretaries, etc.
- Enrollment: your total number of people enrolled in your Sunday School/Bible study ministry (all age groups)
- Current Attendance: your average total attendance of your Sunday School/Bible study ministry (all age groups)
- Objective: total number of people you would like to have attending a year from now (all age groups)
From these five numbers, I will use a +ONE calculator to provide you with numbers for four goals necessary in order to reach your objective: attendance gain, enrollment gain, new groups needed, and workers needed. Together, Darryl Wilson will help you brainstorm actions needed to accomplish those goals. Your attendance objective is possible if (1) your current groups enroll and care for one new person per quarter, (2) your current groups add one new leader, and (3) your Sunday School/Bible study group adds new groups this year. Leave with Sunday School Still Matters with a plan!
